Color me good

Anything No Comments

You saw how your best friend’s hair was chemically damaged when she had it colored at this new salon. And what about your officemate who wanted to have dark brown hair and ended up with scarlet tresses? If it happened to them, it can happen to you, too. The box shows a certain color, but you have no idea if that’s the hair color you will actually end up with. Maybe the best thing to do is to color your hair yourself. You only need to follow the instructions in the product box, right? Wrong. The most important rule to remember when you’re having your hair colored for the first time is: Don’t do it yourself, your best friend and officemate. The second rule to remember is to check out the salon’s reputation. Ask around you should hear the best along with the worst.

1. Know your skin undertone.

2. Don’t go more than two shades lighter or darker than your natural hair color.

3. Make sure your highlights blend with the rest of your color base.

4. Go to the salon every two to three months.

5. Use a shampoo and conditioner made for colored hair.
